Do older prisoners have a worse experience in prison than younger
prisoners? And, if so, what can be done to change that?

These are two of the main questions that the Justice Select Committee will be asking, and hoping to answer, as part of its new inquiry into older prisoners in England and Wales.

The Committee is a committee of MPs from all parties which scrutinizes the policy and the management of the Ministry of Justice, which includes the Prison Service.

The Committee has already called for written evidence from various prison experts for its new Inquiry, and is calling to hear oral evidence over the coming months.
